Two Poets on the Prairie

In 2019, we met at the Howling Coyote Festival, inside an art installation in a barn. Kira and her friend created a blanket fort filled with poetry and pillows called "The Cocoon," and Bryan spent a lot of time there, sharing about his own love of poetry, pottery, and mudlarking. Neither one of us was looking for love at the time, but this first meeting was foreshadowing for what would later unfold in divine timing and God's plan.

In 2021, Bryan would eventually move into the house where Howling Coyote was hosted and turned the barn into his mosaic and tiling workshop. In 2024, Kira moved down the road to work on her writing and test her survival skills in a 94-year-old farmhouse. After struggling through her first country winter, Bryan was the neighbor who dropped a space heater off on her porch. He opened up his living room to be a warm, cozy co-working space, and it wasn't long before they realized that the creative spark they shared was the beginning of lifelong love and partnership.

We're working on a Hallmark-style screenplay about our love story and would love to share it with our wedding guests and community when it's ready, so check back here!
